Possible to collect proof of residence stickers again from IND

Those who do not yet have a proof of residence sticker can again make an appointment at the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) starting today. With the proof of residence stickers, you can prove that you are staying lawfully in the Netherlands as a refugee from Ukraine. In addition, you will soon need it in order to work.

Last month the IND had to temporarily stop handing out proof of residence stickers. This was due to a delay in delivery, because of a shortage of materials to make the stickers. That problem has since been resolved and appointments can be made through the appointment scheduler again.

The proof of residence can be picked up between October 12 and October 31. This can be done in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, or Assen after scheduling an appointment. The IND is trying to provide proof of residency to everyone who is eligible before October 31, 2022.

Previously, proof of residency was required as of September 1 to work. That date has been pushed back to October 31. If the IND doesn't manage to provide everyone with proof of residency by then, don't worry. The IND will continue to hand out proof of residency until everyone is provided.

People who register with a municipality in late October or later can still get proof of residency. It is not yet clear how and where these people can make an appointment for this. As soon as the IND has more clarity on this, we will report it on RefugeeHelp too.

Please note that the RefugeeHelp website is maintained by VluchtelingenWerk Nederland. VluchtelingenWerk is not responsible for the process regarding proof of residence. For questions about the process, please contact the IND.
