Staying with a host family via RefugeeHomeNL

RefugeeHomeNL is an initiative of the Dutch Red Cross, VluchtelingenWerk Nederland, Leger des Heils and Takecarebnb to organise safe accommodation for refugees. You can register at RefugeeHomeNL, after which you will receive help in finding a host family that can offer you and your family shelter.

You can stay with the host family for three months. After that, you can, in consultation with the host family, decide to stay longer. If this is not possible or desirable, you can look for a new place to stay, with help of RefugeeHomeNL and/or the municipality.

RefugeeHomeNL screens all host families that apply. They do this through interviews, so they can judge if a host family is suitable and can offer refugees a safe and comfortable home. In addition, all host families have to apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct, an extra measure to make sure that you, as a refugee, will be well taken care of.

You can apply at a physical location, but also online. On our website you will find much more information about housing in the Netherlands.
