VluchtelingenWerk Nederland (VWN) is organising a webinar about the asylum procedure. You can follow this online meeting if your Temporary Protection has been extended until 4 September 2023, and you have received a letter from the IND with an invitation for an asylum procedure.

Start of asylum procedure

If you do not have Ukrainian citizenship and are covered by the Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) until 4 September 2023, the

Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND)

may invite you for an asylum procedure. If your country of origin is safe according to the IND, the asylum procedure will start in April.

On the Dutch government's website you can see if your country of origin is safe.

Contents of the webinars

VWN organises webinars to keep you well informed. VWN is an independent human rights organisation that advocates for the interests of asylum seekers and refugees in the Netherlands. The webinars are intended for refugees from Ukraine without Ukrainian citizenship and a safe country of origin.

The topics below will be discussed during the online meeting:

• IND letters.

• The procedure during and after the interview.

• The INDundefineds role and the role of the lawyer.

• How to prepare for the interview.

• What to expect after the interview and the consequences of an IND decision.

There will be time for questions after the presentation.

Date and time

• On 12 April at 19:00, the webinar will be held in English and translated into Arabic-Syrian with the help of an interpreter.

• On 17 April at 19:00, the webinar will be held in English and translated into Russian with the help of an interpreter.

Registering for the webinar

After submitting this, a confirmation including a link to the webinar will be sent by email. The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be sent to everyone who signed up afterwards. The webinars take place via Zoom and last approximately 90 minutes.

Everyone is welcome, but there is a maximum number of spots available. Once 500 people log into the webinar it is full and access closes, so log in on time if you want to be assured of a spot. The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be sent to everyone who signed up afterwards.
