78,000 Ukrainians receive letter
The
Ukrainians who applied for temporary protection after January 2025 should not expect a letter. The IND already takes standard biometrics from them.
Within 2 weeks after you get the letter, the IND wants you to make an appointment. So you do not need to have an appointment within 2 weeks of just getting the letter already, the waiting times are longer.

Make an appointment after receiving the letter
You cannot make an appointment until you have received a letter from the IND. This letter states that you must make an appointment within 2 weeks.
During the appointment, the IND will take a digital passport photo, take fingerprints and ask for your signature.
Have you previously submitted biometrics to the IND for a residence permit? Then you do not have to come again. You will not receive a letter in that case.
When does the appointment take place?
The letter says you have to make an appointment within 2 weeks. That means you must schedule the appointment within 2 weeks. The appointment may take place later, such as after 3 or 4 weeks.
Sometimes things are busy and a spot is not available until later. This is not a problem as long as you schedule the appointment on time.
Where do the appointments take place?
The appointments can only be made via the Project Ukraine special office for taking biometrics. This office is located at the IND at Atoomweg 100 in Utrecht.
Children under 18 years of age
Everyone aged 18 and older will receive their own invitation letter. Children under 18 do not receive their own letter, but they do have to provide biometrics. They will accompany an adult to the appointment.
Please note that a parent does not always have to be present when a child provides biometrics. One adult accompanying the child is sufficient.
The IND wants to have your complete information, but they cannot reimburse you for travelling to Utrecht.
If you travel to Utrecht to submit your biometric data, make sure the IND has your complete file. Unfortunately, the IND cannot reimburse your travel expenses. You can request information from your local municipality; some municipalities reimburse travel expenses.
