Asylum and Migration Management Regulation procedure: how the asylum procedure works if you have previously applied for asylum in another country

When you apply for asylum, the IND and the KMar will first check whether another European country is responsible for processing your asylum application. If so, the AMbV procedure (previously Dublin procedure) applies and the Netherlands will not process your application. If you arrive in the Netherlands by land as a refugee, you must register at the application centre in Ter Apel. If you arrive in the Netherlands by plane or by ship, you must apply for asylum at Schiphol Airport.
