If you want to apply for a permanent residence permit, you must meet certain conditions. In this article you will read what those conditions are.

conditions below:

  • You have lived in the Netherlands for at least 5 consecutive years with a valid Dutch asylum residence permit.

  • Only the years from the age of 8 count toward that 5-year period. Children cannot apply for a permanent residence permit until they are at least 13 years old and have had a valid residence permit since age 8.

  • You always renewed your residence permit on time.

  • You have always complied with the conditions of your residence permit. And you still meet those conditions now.

  • You are not a danger to Dutch society.

  • You did not give false information or withhold information when you applied for your current residence permit.

  • You are registered in the Dutch population register (BRP).

  • You have passed the civic integration exam or do not need to take the civic integration exam.

  • You can pay the cost of the permanent residence permit yourself.

If you meet all the conditions, you can apply to the IND for a permanent residence permit.
