People without Dutch citizenship may also vote at the alternative polling station. They cannot officially vote in the national elections. Therefore, a number of organisations are organising alternative elections. Read here how to participate.
This is how elections work in the Netherlands
House of Representatives elections will be held in the Netherlands oOn 22 November. During these elections, Dutch people will choose their elected representatives who together will govern the Netherlands. Only people who are over 18 and have a Dutch passport are allowed to vote in these elections.
If you have applied for asylum in the Netherlands or your asylum has been rejected, you are not allowed to participate in the elections. You are not allowed to vote even if you have an asylum residence permit. This means that you have no official influence on the rules in the Netherlands that affect your life and future.

These completed ballots will be distributed on 21 and 22 November to people who are officially allowed to vote. So they can base their vote for a political party on your ideas. And so they can include your opinion in their official vote for election.
After the election, your opinion will be shared with the new representatives of the people
After the election, the ballots from the alternative polling station are also shared with the new representatives of the people of the Netherlands. This way they still hear your opinion even though you were not officially allowed to vote.
