The NATO summit in The Hague is on 24 and 25 June: these are the national implications for road traffic and public transport
This year's NATO Summit will take place in The Hague on 24 and 25 June. This will affect the accessibility of The Hague and traffic towards other cities. The traffic problems will last from 22 to 27 June. Read in this article what the consequences are.
Traffic between The Hague and other cities partly at a standstill
On 24 and 25 June, there will be traffic problems between The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden and Amsterdam. Wassenaar, the Bulb Region, Noordwijk and Katwijk will also be poorly accessible.
Roads will be closed and you may have to travel via a different route. Roads will be extra crowded and travel times will be longer.
Public transport will be busier and there may be cancellations
Due to road closures, public transport will be busier on 24 and 25 June. Trains, buses or other transportation are likely to be partially out of service.
Trams and buses in The Hague may run via other routes.
NATO leaders arrive at Schiphol, this affects other travellers
NATO leaders arrive at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. They will also depart from there again after the NATO Summit. This may cause changes to gates if you have a flight from Schiphol. If you flying, keep an eye on Schiphol's website.
