During your asylum procedure, you submit documents to the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). These documents prove your refugee story. Read about which documents you need to submit and how to send them.

You submit these documents to the IND

It is important that you can substantiate your refugee story to the

IND
. During the asylum procedure, collect as many documents as possible that prove your identity and your refugee story. Do not wait to hand in the documents until the 2nd interview with the IND.

Please note: The IND must be able to examine your original documents before the 2nd interview. If you only submit the documents during or after the 2nd interview, processing of your asylum application may take longer.

Send your documents to this address

Sending documents in the post

You can send the documents to the IND via registered post. This means you will get a message from the IND when they have received the documents. Your lawyer can also send the documents for you. You have to pay the costs of sending the documents yourself.

Always make copies of the documents you send and keep them safe.
