These are the conditions for family formation
You can apply for family formation in the Netherlands if you are a Dutch citizen or have a residence permit. You apply for it at the
You established a relationship with your partner after you came to the Netherlands. You are married, have a registered partnership or a permanent (unmarried) relationship.
Your partner has a valid passport.
You and your partner are both 21 years of age or older.
You and your partner start living together in the Netherlands at the same address.
You meet the income requirements:
Your income is independent: You have a job or earn the income yourself, and you pay taxes and contributions on it.
Your income is sustainable: You get this income for an extended period of time.
Your income is sufficient: your income must be at least € 2,245.80 gross per month (without holiday pay), at least then you will earn enough. If you earn less, the IND will see if it is still enough for you and your partner.
You are the referent for your partner. That means you are responsible for the application.
Your partner must pass the basic civic integration exam abroad if you are a Dutch citizen. Do you have an asylum permit? Then your partner does not have to do this basic civic integration exam. You must then apply for an exemption.
Depending on your partner's citizenship, he or she must undergo a medical examination for tuberculosis after arriving in the Netherlands
