On 2 March, the Minister of Asylum and Migration announced that the policy for Sudan is changing
African (non-Arab) populations from Sudan are more likely to be entitled to a asylum residence permit. This is because they are in extreme danger in areas of Sudan where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) armed group is in power. According to the IND, these are the Fur, Zaghawa, Masalit and Tunjur population groups. People belonging to these population groups do not have to prove that they are in personal danger.
