Conditions for regular family reunification

If you want family members to come to the Netherlands, you must apply for family reunification. Certain rules apply to this. You can read more about those rules on this page.
This is the difference between "post-travel asylum family reunification" and "regular family reunification"
After receiving an asylum residence permit, you have 3 months to allow your family members to come to the Netherlands through the post-travel asylum family reunification procedure.
If you are not in time to apply for post-travel asylum family reunification, you can apply for regular family reunification. This has some drawbacks:
Post-travel asylum family reunification is free. Regular family reunification costs money.
With post-travel asylum family reunification, you need to meet less stringent requirements than with regular family reunification. For example, with regular family reunification you have to meet certain income requirements. This is not required in the case of asylum family reunification post-travel.
You can apply for regular family reunification for your family members left behind if:
You have a Dutch residence permit and want to apply for family reunification more than 3 months after you received your permit.
You meet the income requirements of the

If you have, different conditions apply, such as the basic civic integration exam for foreign nationals. These conditions apply to both standard family reunification and family formation. In such cases, the issue is not whether your family life began before or after your arrival in the Netherlands, but rather your status as the referent applying for family reunification.
The basic integration exam taken abroad is required for all standard GH procedures where the sponsor has standard residence status or is a Dutch national. Family members of a naturalised sponsor who have missed the deadline for joining their sponsor and must submit a TEV application must pass the basic integration exam taken abroad before they can come to the Netherlands.
For these family members, you can apply for family reunification through the regular procedure:
Your spouse or partner
Do you have more than 1 spouse? Then you may apply for family reunification for 1 spouse.Your biological children and foster or adopted children under the age of 18 who were part of your family in your country of origin
If the child's other parent stays behind abroad, they must give permission for your child to leave for the Netherlands.
For some other family members, you can apply through a different procedure
Do you want to apply for family reunification for other family members, such as children over 18 years old or your parents, brothers or sisters? Then this cannot be done through the regular family reunification procedure. It can sometimes be done through another procedure called "asylum family reunification 8EVRM".
