Cost of applying for family reunification with your parents, siblings or adult children

An application for family reunification with, for example, your minor brothers, sisters, foster parent or grandchild costs money. These costs are called 'legeskosten' (legal fees). You pay these to the IND. Read below how this works.

Support with applying for family reunification based on Article 8 ECHR

In some cases, you can get help with your application from a lawyer. They can help you with legal matters.

  • Do you live in a reception location and need a lawyer's help? If so,

    can refer you to a lawyer in some cases. Make a digital appointment for VWN's consultation hour on this page.

  • Do you already have a home and live in the municipality? Even then VWN can in some cases refer you to a lawyer, or VWN itself can help you make your application. To do this, make an appointment with VWN in your municipality.
