Too little room at COA

Please note that there are now sometimes too few places for family members coming to the Netherlands for family reunification. Therefore, there is not always a place in a reception centre immediately upon arrival in the Netherlands. So always apply for a place in time via the post and clearly state the date from which you need a place in a reception centre.

If your family member comes to live with you, you make your own appointment with the IND

After arriving in the Netherlands, your family member must have an appointment with the IND within 3 days. Because the IND is busy, it is almost never possible to make an appointment that quickly. Sometimes the appointment is a few weeks after your family member(s) arrival. Therefore, it is important that you schedule an appointment even before your family member or family members arrive. You can make an appointment for this earlier online. Make an appointment with the IND

immediately online as soon as you know when your family member will arrive in the Netherlands.

Your family member will be registered in the

at this appointment. Only after this is done will the IND create the residence document (pass) for your family member. To pick up the document, your family member must go to an IND office. The IND will let your family member know when he or she can pick up the residence permit.

If your relative is going to live in a reception centre, COA in Zevenaar will make an appointment with the IND

Has COA at your reception location sent an email to COA in Zevenaar for the reception of your family members? Then COA in Zevenaar will make an appointment with the IND in Zevenaar to collect the residence permit. You do not have to arrange an appointment with the IND yourself.
