On 24 February 2026, several places in the Netherlands will commemorate the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Activities will also take place in the months afterwards. Below is an overview of the activities for each date.
24 February 2026
UTRECHT
Commemoration of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. This event commemorates the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. It provides a space for commemoration, dialogue and cultural exchange, strengthening solidarity between the Ukrainian community and local society in Utrecht. 18:30-19:00: Reception 19:00-19:15: Opening 19:15-20:45: Parallel programme (various workshops):
Motanka Workshop: Making a traditional Ukrainian doll symbolising protection. Painting Workshop: Creative reflection on commemoration and resilience. Guided creative activities for children, allowing families to participate together.
20:45-21:15: Catering. Light snacks and drinks will be served after the dialogue session.
THE HAGUE
This panel discussion focuses on 'nuclear justice' in Russia's war against Ukraine. Experts talk about Russia's nuclear weapons and infrastructure and the impact of sanctions. They also discuss how science and technology are being used in the war. There is also a focus on the topic of propaganda through universities, and the adoption or obliteration of Ukrainian scientific achievements. The goal is to share knowledge between scientists, experts and a politically interested audience. This will create a better understanding of responsibility, security and justice. Come listen, ask questions and join the discussion on this important topic.
HAARLEM
During this event, there will be an introduction by the founder and manager of Rasom Foundation. After that, there will be a speech by someone from the Dutch Civilian Action Foundation. The exhibition featuring the work of artist Polina Raiko will also be opened, and there will be a dance performance.
ZWOLLE
Part of the programme: dialogue and culture, with the exhibition "Being a child in wartime". The programme starts at 15:30 with the reception of guests and a brief explanation of the exhibition of children's drawings, with a poem by a Dutch veteran. This will be followed by a concert with young Ukrainian artists and talks with Ukrainian children and their parents. In the late afternoon, a silent march will take place from Stadkamer to Zwolle City Hall. On the Grote Kerkplein the photo exhibition "Lost childhood" will be on display, with speeches by Slava i Volya Foundation, local and provincial representatives and city poet Gertrud Reiningk, followed by a minute of silence and the Ukrainian national anthem. The day will conclude with the film screening of "Children in the Fire" at Stadkamer Centrum.

During this meeting we will hold 1 minute of silence and share stories of Ukrainians. There will be a presentation of creative works and a performance by vocal ensemble "Dzherelo". The snacks are from bakery "Varvara".
NIJMEGEN
18:00: Demonstration on the Grote Markt in Nijmegen.
AMSTERDAM
Ukrainian filmmaker Alisa Kovalenko documented her service at the front in the Volunteer Army in video diaries for her son Theo in France. In the film, she captured the experiences of soldiers during the Russian invasion of 2022.
With the convoys of Protect Ukraine traveled writers, journalists and photographers. They saw the war up close. From personal experiences in Ukraine and Russia, they share stories, analyses and excerpts from their work. Emotional film images and music by Ukrainian musicians give a voice to what is sometimes hard to put into words.

Concert 'There is hope!' by Vadim Krasnookiy - singer, guitarist, songwriter, regular frontman of the legendary band 'Mad Heads'.
ROTTERDAM
Sint Laurenskerk 15 Grotekerkplein 3011 GC Rotterdam 18:30-20:00 Commemorative evening to remember four years since the invasion of Ukraine. We come together to remember the victims of this war, with silence, music and words. The programme includes performances by Bozhena Hamar, Victoria Hamar and Maria Kalytiak. The evening is organised by Ukrainian House in Rotterdam (wmo Radar), together with VATAHA Foundation and MANO Foundation. There will be speeches from the Municipality of Rotterdam and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Netherlands.
AMSTERDAM
Prinses Irenestaat 36 Amsterdam 19:00 Stand-up comedians Slavik Martynyuk and Bogdan Vakhnych do a show. You may know them from the show "Medical Stories" and they will bring you an evening of nostalgia, reflection and also some wise words. All proceeds from the evening will go to the Ukrainian army.

ARNHEM
Rozet Kortestraat 16, 6811 EP Arnhem 15:30-19:30 The programme starts with the opening of a photo exhibition, followed by an official opening and a discussion on commemoration, dialogue and partnership. There will be a creative workshop for children. After a memorial reception with explanations by the photographers, workshops will take place, including hat braiding and the traditional Ukrainian technique vybiyka. The day will conclude with a joint commemorative march.

Will Remain (piano and pan flute) Will Remain is a concert series by Duo Lehit: pan flutist Taras Berchtold and pianist Anastasiia Bohodysta. The series showcases the emotion and beauty of Ukrainian classical music. The duo will play a specially curated programme of music by Ukrainian composers from different eras. They mainly choose lesser-known works. This music gives a strong impression of Ukraine's rich cultural heritage and shows how important this tradition is.

Boombox Dronotur 2026 Concert On 1 March 2026, Ukrainian band Boombox will give a concert at Paard in The Hague. The band is coming to Europe with the new "Dronetour 2026". During the concert, the musicians will play their best-known songs. It will be an energetic, but also warm evening, where everyone can feel connected. At the same time, the band is raising money for drones for the Ukrainian army. Every ticket and purchase is a donation. Want to be there? On 3 March 2026, Kurgan & Agregat will perform a concert at Q-Factory. Their music shows the free life and combines humor with energy. The audience can sing along and have fun together.
