In September 2025, the IND began inviting Ukrainians living in the Netherlands to provide their biometric data. Almost all Ukrainians have now done so. This campaign therefore ended on 31 March 2026. Do you still need to provide your biometric data? If so, please book an appointment yourself.
What are biometrics?
The IND wants biometric data from every Ukrainian: a digital passport photo, fingerprints and a signature.
This is necessary to verify your identity and to check whether the IND already has this information on file.
Biometrics are used solely for identification and registration purposes. They have nothing to do with applying for a temporary or permanent residence permit.
Do you still need to provide biometric data after 31 March 2026? If so, please book an appointment yourself
On 31 March, the IND stopped sending out invitations for biometric data collection. This is because most Ukrainians have already provided their biometric data.
Do you still need to provide biometric data?
Have you already provided biometric data to the IND for a residence permit? If so, you do not need to come in again. You therefore do not need to make an appointment.
Children under the age of 18 must also provide biometric data
Children under the age of 18 must also provide biometric data. Do you have children under the age of 18? If so, please bring them with you to your appointment.
The IND wants to have your complete information, but they cannot reimburse you for travelling to Utrecht.
If you travel to Utrecht to submit your biometric data, make sure the IND has your complete file. Unfortunately, the IND cannot reimburse your travel expenses. You can request information from your local municipality; some municipalities reimburse travel expenses.
