• The Dutch government expects that many Ukrainians will return to Ukraine after the war. There, they can help rebuild the country. Until then, the Dutch government intends to continue providing reception centres for Ukrainians. Mr. Klaver explains how the government plans to do this.

• The Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) remains in force until March 2028. Ukrainians who have been granted temporary protection in the Netherlands can obtain a

  transition document
  as soon as the TPD expires. In the podcast, Mr. Klaver explains more about how long this document is valid for and why it is important.

• Do you want to stay in the Netherlands? If so, you may have the option to apply for a residence permit for work, study or family reasons once your temporary protection ends. You will need to prepare for this well in advance because there are strict requirements.

• There is a shortage of housing in the Netherlands. As a result, Ukrainians will continue to live in reception location for the time being. Mr. Klaver explains how the Dutch government is working on plans to improve these reception locations in the coming years.

• Mr. Klaver provides more details about the situation with Ukrainian children who have now settled in the Netherlands. They speak Dutch and wish to continue their studies and work here. He also explains that the possibility of reducing

  tuition fees
  is being looked into.
