Guideline Temporary Protection
If you had to flee from Ukraine because of the Russian invasion, you may fall under Temporary Protection in the Netherlands. That means that special rules apply to you. For example, you do not have to apply for the usual asylum procedure, and you can live and work in the Netherlands.

This is what you should do if you have Temporary Protection
If you fall under the Temporary Protection Directive, you must register with the municipality. You must also collect proof of residence from the IND. On this page you can read what you need to arrange.

Apply or renew your passport in the Netherlands
You can apply for a passport at the consular service of the Ukrainian embassy in the Netherlands. You need to make an appointment for this. You can also renew your passport. To do this, go to the embassy's visiting hours.

Reunion with family members from Ukraine
Family members of people with Temporary Protection may also be eligible for Temporary Protection in the Netherlands. This is possible even if family members are not entitled to Temporary Protection independently.
